For those who have got past the 'heavy is better' theory,
this little banjo is an absolute delight! I say 'little' because although its dimensions are standard, it weighs less than most bluegrass banjos of this quality and price. (Air travellers take note!)
Block construction Tony Pass submerged woods rim is cunningly shaped to continue the rim into a tone-ring. There's nothing whimpy about the sound coming out of THIS banjo! Keep the head tensioned and listen to the excellent response across the whole tonal range.
Figured walnut neck and highly figured burl walnut resonator. Ebony fingerboard and original design Star Pattern pearl inlays. Ivoroid planetary tuners & geared 5th peg. Chrome plated hardware, bound neck and resonator, railroad spikes at frets 7, 9 & 10.
Two-piece flange and domed bracket nuts enable this banjo to be converted to an open-back.
